A Furls Product
Near Here.
The local events the big sites miss. Pub quizzes, craft workshops, village fetes, community meetups. The good stuff that's actually near you.
Visit nearhere.eventsThe problem
Your local events are hiding in plain sight.
There's a pub quiz three streets away, a craft fair this weekend, and a free comedy night at the community centre. You'd love to go. You just don't know they exist.
The big event sites focus on arenas and stadiums. Parish councils post to Facebook groups. Libraries update their own websites. Pubs stick a poster in the window. Near Here brings all of that together in one place, so you can stop Googling and start going.
What it does
Event discovery, minus the faff.
Actually local
Events within your real neighbourhood. Not "near you" in the way that a venue 40 miles away is "near you."
The ones you'd miss
Parish councils, community centres, libraries, pubs, village halls. The events that don't have a marketing budget but are absolutely worth your Saturday.
18+ categories
Arts, family, food, wellness, theatre, community. Filter by what you're into, not what an algorithm thinks you should see.
One-tap calendar
Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook. Found something good? It's in your diary in one tap.
Why we built it
Because we wanted to use it ourselves.
Near Here exists because finding local events shouldn't require joining six Facebook groups and checking twelve different websites. That felt like a problem worth solving, so we solved it.
It aggregates listings from the sources that matter locally and makes them searchable, browsable, and actually useful. No account needed. No spam. Just events, near here.
Out in the wild
Near Here is in the AWS Startups Showcase.
AWS curate a directory of small teams shipping useful things on their stack. We made the cut. Worth a look if you want a quick read on what the project is and where it's going.
