Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 September 2026
1. Who we are
Furls Digital Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is an IT consultancy registered in England (company number 17110533). Our registered office is Belmont Suite Paragon Business Park, Chorley New Road, Bolton, Lancashire, England, BL6 6HG. We operate the website at furls.co.uk ("the Site").
For questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at hello@furls.co.uk.
2. What data we collect
We keep things minimal. Here is what we collect and why:
Analytics data (with your consent)
If you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics (measurement ID: G-XM6QJWB0LK) to understand how people use the Site. This collects usage information such as pages visited, time on site, and general geographic region. We use this to improve the Site. Google Analytics sets cookies on your device to enable this. You can withdraw consent at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.
Email correspondence
If you email us at hello@furls.co.uk, we will receive and store your email address and the contents of your message. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry and will not add you to any mailing list.
Website delivery and security
Cloudflare hosts and protects the Site. It processes technical request information, including IP addresses and browser details, to deliver pages and detect abuse. This processing is separate from optional Google Analytics. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for details.
3. What data we do not collect
We do not:
- Ask you to create an account or provide personal details to browse the Site.
- Use tracking cookies beyond Google Analytics (and only with your explicit consent).
- Sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
- Use your data for profiling or automated decision-making.
4. Cookies
The Site uses the following cookies and browser storage:
- Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*): Set only if you consent. These help us distinguish browsers and sessions so we can understand Site usage. Their default expiry is up to 2 years and may refresh when activity is recorded.
- Cookie consent preference (furls_cookie_consent): Stored in your browser's localStorage (not a cookie, technically) to remember your consent choice. No data is sent to any server.
- Motion preference (furls_motion): Stored in sessionStorage when you use the motion control, so your choice follows you between pages in the same tab. It is not sent to a server and normally clears when the tab is closed.
You can manage or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Using "Cookie Settings" in the Site footer withdraws analytics consent on this device, stops further collection on the current page, and removes the Google Analytics cookies available to the Site.
5. Legal basis for processing
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), our legal bases for processing personal data are:
- Consent: For analytics cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests: For responding to enquiries, delivering the Site, and protecting it against abuse.
6. Data retention
Google Analytics applies our property’s retention settings to user-level and event-level data. Aggregated reports are not covered by that automatic deletion period. See Google’s explanation of analytics retention, or contact us for information about the settings that apply to your data.
Email correspondence is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to address your enquiry and any follow-up, after which it is deleted.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Withdraw consent for analytics at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@furls.co.uk.
8. Data transfers
Google Analytics may process data outside the UK. Google participates in and has certified its compliance with applicable data transfer mechanisms. For more information, see Google's privacy policy.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
10. Contact
